Japanese term
バックヤード
Japanese to English
Other
Human Resources
バックヤード及び外部委託業者の職員(食事、清掃、廃棄物処理等)
This is in a list of categories of staff working at hospitals and clinics. Not sure if 'backyard' is literal, meaning 'grounds', as in a caretaker or groundsperson, or if it means something like ancillary staff.

At the hotel where I worked, バックヤード was used for manual jobs 'behind the scenes', as it were, eg moving things like tables, beer kegs, unloading deliveries, taking out the rubbish etc. They were separate from jobs like the cleaners and the porters but I think in a hospital, ancilliary staff may be OK.
