Discussion

Ana Kroll (asker) May 3, 2009:
thank you for your participation I understand your position and Setffen's position, but for me quetsion is just a question, I'm not looking for discussions, because after KudoZ discussions my email box is full, for me it's not a place where translators present their knowledge or test knowledge. As translators we know there are a lot of translations of just one term due to translator's idiolect etc. so I'm looking for a relevant part for me. About confidentiality, no matter from which source the source text comes from - for me confidentiality is confidentiality - this is my responsibility.
MMUlr May 3, 2009:
Guessing - due to lack of context ... I really second Steffen in his statement - however, after entering the original words, you will immediately find the source text through Google - I do respect AnKrol wish to keep her job confidential, however, one Google try shows it already (!?). I hope that I do not break your confidentiality, when I say that "conditions" in the sense of diseases are meant here, diseases, which are able to induce the "disease in question"; so my translation would have been (knowing the context now!): begünstigende Erkrankungen, because auslösende to me is too strictly "causal" to my German ears, and the diseases listed should not be understood as "causal", IMO.
Ana Kroll (asker) May 3, 2009:
Dear Steffen, I know that "precipitating" may mean a lot of things, and I know what does it mean, but I couldn't find the very best equivalent in German and I couldn't submit a broader context due to confidentiality. I have chosen this answer and this is the right answer for my context. The question was urgent...
Steffen Walter May 2, 2009:
What is the broader context? "Precipitating" can mean a number of things, depending on further context. And why the rush? You should wait 24 hours before closing questions in order to enable other colleagues to contribute.
