French term

décuver

French to English Tech/Engineering Electronics / Elect Eng Transformer tank
I am not sure how to translate this term from the sentence belwo regarding transformer tanks.

Any suggestions will be gratefully received.

La cuve est soit du type cloche (partie active maintenue en fond de cuve), soit du type classique (partie active fixée au couvercle), à condition toutefois que la masse à décuver soit inférieure à 40 T

"After the installation of transformers onto the foundations and the bund, unloading of oil and filling of the transformers will be performed by means of electrical pumps from the barrels on the trucks directly into the transformer tank."

Note from asker:
Thanks to you all. At this point however I think this is the best solution. I will wait a bit longer before closing the question to see if anyone else has any other comments to add.

remove

I think this is perhaps appropriate in this context.

empty

"Empty" does the job. You could use "drain", "decant", "run off", etc, but why bother?

Hi Tony. I had rather assumed that this referred to removing the transformer oil, but 40 t corresponds to about 50 m^3, which is a lot of oil, and therefore a very big transformer. Maybe you're right. In the event of doubt (which there is), Bashiqa's "remove" solution is suitably neutral.
Peer comment(s):

neutral Tony M : I can't help thinking that they're talking rather about the mass of the trafo, which mustn't exceed 40 t if it is hanging from the lid...?

untanking weight

untanking weight = masse à décuver.
Core, coils and tank lid are the components of the transformer untanking weight. Such untanking takes place for inspection, maintenance or repair of power transformers.
