Customer profile
Another term from a banking document listing various options for customer investments. Is *Optimised Returns Portfolio* a good EN equivalent?

German term (edited):
Ertragsoptimierte Portfolio
maximized income portfolio
would be my choice if I had to use this as a name for the account but I don't like it much as it describes the investment strategy/goal. Maximum/maximal income portfolio are other possibilities, but again, they don't sound very good as names.
Note from asker:
Thanks for all your hard work on this Ted, especially for explaining why *income* is better than *returns* etc! I think I will go for *optimised income portfolio*. (I understand optimised as having a slightly different meaning from maximised). Either way you have definitely earned the points. |

: A portfolio optimized (or maximized) for return (or yield) does not need to be a high-yield portfolio.

German term (edited):
Ertragsoptimierte Portfolio
Income-maximising (maximizing) portfolio
Just a slight variation on Ted's suggestion. I think the main purpose of the portfolio is to maximise (maximize) income and so it may be appropriate therefore to describe it as income-maximising (maximizing) rather than as maximized income. Not a lot in it, though.

One portfolio is equally weighted, whereas the other portfolio is optimized for high risk-adjusted return, that is, highest Sharpe ratio.

Discussion
Ertrag = Kapitalertrag/Rendite (= return/yield)
Return/yield =(capital gains + investment income), expressed as a percentage of the capital invested.
Net pre-tax return = Return MINUS (expenses incurred to earn investment income + capital losses)
Income (regardless of whether interest/dividend/rental/royalties/etc.) is only a component of (total) return.
