Tech/Engineering

Gas pipeline
I already have a non-return ball valve, a non-return swing check valve but the 'obus' has defeated me. TIA to all.

Here is a ref with images of your French whatsit:

And as it looks like a nozzle, I think this might be it in English:

"A feature of the nozzle check valve DRV-Z is its inherent non ?slam characteristic. This is attained because the valve reacts so quickly to flow (velocity) changes that it is always able to outpace the process change and be at the point of closure before it is possible to obtain reverse flow."

On the other hand, the illustration shows a valve rather different from the French one.

Come to think of it, so does my bicycle tyre valve.

Note from asker:
Hi, thanks for your reply but I have difficulty in relating this to a gas pipeline. I know that it is a non-return valve, presumably similar to a ball valve, but nozzle check I'm not sure about. |
Second attempt much more interesting ta muchly!! |

Comment: "Nozzle check it is."

Core non-return valve
1) OK for "non return valve" = "clapet de non-retour".
2) "Obus de valve" = "valve core" (see Web ref 1).
2) "Obus de valve" = "valve core" (see Web ref 1).
