disagree ContextGlobal : The answer has the word sailing, which is incorrect as the word yacht also includes motor yachs without sails. However in older terminology (such as steam boat terminology) the word sailing is used. For example "Titanic sailed out on the Hudson River."

Most yacht races are for yachts with sails. Anyway, as you say yourself, any ship can set sail, however it's powered. I don't see your point.
