Hebrew term

הצעת התקשרות

Hebrew to English Bus/Financial Business/Commerce (general)
חברה אחת מציעה את שירותיה בכתב ובאופן פורמלי לחברה שניה. לדעתי זה יכול להיות
business proposal
למרות ש"התקשרות" לא זהה ל"עסקית".

Maimuta engagement can indeed be a "false friends/faux amis". Your explanation is perfectly clear to a French born like me, but others can get mixed up.

FR engagement The was a question yesterday or so about the French word engagement/engager in a business context. In rough terms, it was something like (in English) "X is authorized to engage the Company up to the sum of XXX", which is the parallel IMHO to התקשרות in the Hebrew business practice. Of course, "engagement" won't fly in English (unless a diamond ring is involved too) - but this is IMHO the source of the Hebrew expression. I think that "התקשרות" is a catch-all term for contract, agreement, framework agreement or any other of "business commitment".

4 KudoZ points awarded for this answer. Comment: "Thanks all, in the end I went with "contract proposal" because the document was indeed a contract, though I think "business proposal" would have worked as well. "

No context has been given - my suggestion is relevant in the context of social or professional networking.
Otherwise I would suggest business proposal as the nearest match.

business proposal

Only ( :-) ) 765,000 hits in Google and the most popular term I am used with. I think that business is the generic term for any kind of the following relation and underlying document : purchase, sale, rental, lease, franchise, etc. - and contract, agreement, license, etc.
