Ich benötige für den Ausdruck "Städtische Gemeinschaftshauptschule" eine Übersetzung, habe aber leider nicht wirklich eine Idee, was genau eine Gemeinschaftshauptschule überhaupt ist. Bei der Suche im Netz bin ich über verschiedenen Varianten "gestolpert", die sich teilweise auf die "Abschaffung der Hauptschule als eigenständige Schulform hin zu einem gegliederten Schulsystem mit teil- oder vollintegrierten Sekundarstufenschulen (Zusammenlegung der Haupt- und Realschulen mit interner Durchlässigkeit der Bildungsgänge)" (Quelle: wikipedia), auf Konfessionszugehörigkeiten oder Ähnlichkeiten mit Gesamtschulen bezogen. Leider konnte ich nirgendwo einen konkreten Bezug zur "Gemeinschaftshauptschule" entdecken; die Website der betreffenden Schule wird leider gerade bearbeitet, bei anderen Gemeinschaftshauptschulen finde ich nicht unbedingt ausführlichere Erläuterungen zur Schulform selbst. Hat jemand eine Idee ...?

The variant of English used and the educational system best understood in the UAE is British. American terms should therefore be avoided. i.e. ‘Middle’ as opposed to ‘Upper’ or ‘Lower’?

There have been many glossary entries for Hauptschule. Since ‘secondary modern schools’ no longer exist in the British comprehensive system, you should specify that this is indeed a secondary school, but one with a non-selective entry policy, by contrast with a ‘Gymnasium’ (= grammar school).

Thanks, phillee. 'State' as opposed to 'private' indeed. But I wonder, though, whether 'state' might not be seen as setting up some sort of conflict with the notion of 'Gemeinschaft'?

I think there is no terms that is directly equivalent, but middle school seems to be the closest.
