Change log

Nov 2, 2010 10:09: Klára Kalamár changed "Level" from "Non-PRO" to "PRO"

Votes to reclassify question as PRO/non-PRO:

PRO (3): Annamaria Amik, Mihaela Petrican, Klára Kalamár

When entering new questions, KudoZ askers are given an opportunity* to classify the difficulty of their questions as 'easy' or 'pro'. If you feel a question marked 'easy' should actually be marked 'pro', and if you have earned more than 20 KudoZ points, you can click the "Vote PRO" button to recommend that change.

How to tell the difference between "easy" and "pro" questions:

An easy question is one that any bilingual person would be able to answer correctly. (Or in the case of monolingual questions, an easy question is one that any native speaker of the language would be able to answer correctly.)

A pro question is anything else... in other words, any question that requires knowledge or skills that are specialized (even slightly).

Another way to think of the difficulty levels is this: an easy question is one that deals with everyday conversation. A pro question is anything else.

When deciding between easy and pro, err on the side of pro. Most questions will be pro.

* Note: non-member askers are not given the option of entering 'pro' questions; the only way for their questions to be classified as 'pro' is for a ProZ.com member or members to re-classify it.

Discussion

mihaela. Nov 2, 2010:
clarificari in Rom-Engleza, de data aceasta:
1. first cycle is English for ... pumpdown; in Romanian = ciclu rapid
Most systems won't hold pump down indefinitely (information found under Pump Down Cycle!)
http://docs.google.com/viewer?a=v&q=cache:oj-O9vZxwAQJ:www.a...

Asta-i ce am spus eu.

meirs Nov 2, 2010:
I read carefully And do not find cycle, full power or anything similar. I understand "combined" as concurrent. At the end of the day, it doesn't matter. The combined effect of pumping down (sucking out the excess fluid) and relieving the same fluid to the atmosphere - will relieve the interspace (jacket) overpressure. When one has an overpressure condition, one has to relieve ASAP, or the "thing" blows (read - explodes). It seems that for some technical reason, the jacket relief port (and associated relief valve) does not have the full capacity (flow rate) to release (fast enough) the fluid that is liable to leak from the inner vessel.
mihaela. Nov 2, 2010:
please read carefully! I clearly stated: the first cicle - full power - of the vacuum pump!!! Of the pump. When it (the pump) starts :-) It has abosolutely nothing to do with your comment. Should we switch to Romanian?!? Would that bring about more accurate comments?
meirs Nov 2, 2010:
@Mihaela It's concurrent - not sequential (no cycles) - the vacuum pump will evacuate the leakage fluid as fast as it can but if the jacket pressure doesn't drop enough, the relief port (relief valve assumed there) will "blow" away the excess
mihaela. Nov 2, 2010:
Technical Slang "vacuum pump down" is technical slang for the first cicle - full power - of the vacuum pump; "effect [...] of vacuum pumping down", on the other hand, IS bad English.
meirs Nov 2, 2010:
Bad English "...then the combined effects of vacuum pumping down and of the outer jacket relief port will relieve the interspace overpressure."
