Spanish term

lechuguines

Spanish to English Art/Literary Botany Plants
Here's the context:

I know what "lechuguines" refers to but not sure if there is an equivalent term in English. The best I've got so far is "aquatic plants" so any, more precise, suggestions welcome.

Many thanks,

Julie Waddington (asker) Dec 13, 2010:
Thank you for pointing that out, Phil. The reason I hadn't picked up on it (I had checked the glossary and every other source available) is that the glossary entry appears under a different spelling - "lechugines" rather than (my) "lechuguines" and therefore didn't appear when I made the search.

Juliet Please check the glossary before posting questions - we've had this before.

I know "lechuguín" as a popular name for Eichhornia (aguapé)...
