Spanish term

CONCEPTO

Spanish to English Medical Business/Commerce (general)
Document from Colombia detailing the decisions of a task force within the review board of a national drug surveillance agency (INVIMA):

Could this be translated as "RULING" or 'DECISION," or is it more legal, such as "IN THIS MATTER"? Thank you for your help.

Discussion

Jorge Soares Dec 28, 2010:
The context was provided in links in, at least, one of my previous discussion entries - the very first of all. The asker didn't needed to provide any context because, as the esker and myself clarified, this can be found in ANY of the many Minutes in the Colombia Government site. Also, as our collegue ADRIANA LEGUIZAMO said (below, in my answer box), agreeing that Concepto, in this specific case means, Opinon/Recommendation: "vivo en Colombia y he manejado documentos con el Invima. So, this is not guesswork at all but result of research and personal experience from whom, in fact, knows and works with this official documents and entities. Allow me to thank you in advance for your future respect for the daily work we do in this areas of work, as also as for the research.
AllegroTrans Dec 28, 2010:
@ gallagy2 Exactly - there must be paragraphs following or preceding this with capitalized headings - without knowing what they are, I think it's just guesswork - where is the asker to provide context as requested?
Yvonne Gallagher Dec 28, 2010:
difficult to decide who has correct response when there is so little context
AllegroTrans Dec 28, 2010:
Context I think this all depends on the preceding and following text. Can you tell us something about this, especially any preceding or following capitalized headings?

OPINION/RECOMMENDATION

This medical team/task force analises different topics related with medicine use and after each topic being analised they issue their opinion/recommendation to the Reviser Commision (they work under Reviser Comission). An example that they issue Opinions/recommendations as experts can be seen in the following:

DECISION/RULING

I agree with Roxanne. In the context, the term Concepto refers to the decision or ruling that the board has adopted- recommending the adoption the acceptance of the protocols...

Other options: POSITION/CONCLUSION/DETERMINATION/OPINION
