Talking about investment prospects - can I take this to mean "financial years" do you think? I hadn't seen the term used outside the oenological/gastronomic context, although it seems clear enough - just wanted to check if anyone recognizes its use in this context.

We are talking investment here. Maybe the writers wanted to add some poetry but you should translate this in correct financial terms. I.e. what is being said is that whatever financial products they are selling there (should) have a better yield in the 2012-2015 period. If we were talking about commercial paper or bonds with maturities spanning 2012-2015, you would say that these offer the best investment prospect. Thus the non-financial añada term...

I think it's just being used metaphorically, so I guess you can go for "vintages" if you don't think it souds too ridiculous or just use the more prosaic "years".

Maybe if you use "vintages", you could throw in some quotation marks!

practice, differences in compiling institutions, the impact of “rebalancing” mechanisms used

Owing to these factors, divergences may be observable during the course of the year.
