English term

ante reclamos en exceso a los montos indemnizatorios

English to Spanish Law/Patents Insurance Insurance
Hi!
How would you translate this phrase? The sentence is the following:
"Este seguro incluye la cobertura de Responsabilidad Civil por Accidentes del Trabajo y Enfermedades Profesionales que protege el patrimonio empresario ante reclamos en exceso a los montos indemnizatorios que brinda el seguro obligatorio de Riesgos del Trabajo (exclusivo para clientes de Prevención ART)".

I cannot understand this phrase "reclamos en exceso a los montos indemnizatorios "

"....which protects the business patrimony from ..."

Can you help me?

on claims in excess of the amounts covered by the obligatory.....

People seem to struggle with the word 'ante'.
Peer comment(s):

agree Toni Romero : Yes, but in this case I would said against (protect against claims)//Yes, if you consider "protege el patrimonio del empresario ante reclamos", this "ante" is "against" and it is part of the question :-)

Peer comment(s):

neutral Andrew Bramhall : Company assets are 'patrimonio' in Spanish;' compensated' is not the right term here.'//If you indemnify something you insure it, not compensate it.

Oliver, your distinction between "insured amounts" and "compensated amounts" is entirely correct. you observation that "insured amouts are those to be compenate" is also correct. Hence, "insured amounts" and "amounts to be compensated" are synonymous.

In the face of claims in excess of the insured amounts

The business is protected above the capping/cut-off levels of their insurance policies, i.e, if they have maximum coverage of 250.000 euros and a claim is entered against them for 300.000 euros, they are still covered under the terms of their public liability insurance.
