I'm translating a CV for a nuclear engineer so I haven't got a lot to go on, I'm afraid. The sentence is:
Phase réalisation en pied d’ouvrage sur un atelier de compactage de déchets et mise en fûts pour COGEMA LA HAGUE
I'm not sure what's meant by "en pied d'ouvrage" here. In the initial construction phase? Or is it referring to being physically on site?
I'd be grateful for any light you can throw on this.

This would be my understanding of this expression in most circumstances. Sorry I haven't time to find refs as I am dashing out. But will give some on my return.

thanks David. It is usually à pied d'oeuvre (Forbes Dictionary of Architecture and Construction) but I have come across it used with this meaning too.

: Perhaps wordref language forum isn't the best resource for construction site terminology. The answer you propose was given nearly 8 hrs earlier by Gilla, so why not agree with her? "Realisation phase" is not a recognisably English term.

"en pied d'ouvrage" means litterally "at the floor of the building", most probably on the real site during its construction, as opposed to a test bed somewhere else
