Breiten- und Tiefentransfer

German to English Bus/Financial Economics knowledge transfer
My text is a description of a project on promoting knowledge transfer. The project involves defining the term "transfer" and "lineare und reziproke Transfermodelle, die Begriffe Breiten- und Tiefentransfer, neue Transferinstrumente und -kanäle", etc.
The text makes many references to knowledge transfer, technology transfer and innovation transfer, but the term "Breiten- und Tiefentransfer" is not used again.

I am struggling to find the equivalent English term(s).

I have found a couple of references that help to define the terms:

If anyone can help with an English translation I would be most grateful!

@ Catherine what I gather from your links is that the Tiefentransfer refers to research whereas the Breitentransfer to publicity or public relations, or even "specific and general transfer of information"

cascade Unfortunately, I've only heard it used as a verb. And of course, it's unidirectional, which makes it too restrictive if knowledge is also transferred upwards.

Tiefentransfer I've seen 'cascade' used in this sense. The liquid metaphor would then need to be retained for Breitentransfer; something with 'ripple' perhaps?

It's hard to suggest a translation without a detailed knowledge of the theory of knowledge transfer, but this is presumably talking about the direction in which it's transferred, perhaps within organisations.
