Discussion

Anne Schulz Nov 22, 2011:
Sounds like a negative or fuzzy ST segment becoming a proper positive T wave - but it is not really a standard expression.

agree Anne Schulz : or "reversal"?

hi Anne, yes, that would work too - although the usual expression would be reversal of ST depression/elevation - the ST changes being specified

reversal (of ST-segment depression)/(ST-segment) reversal

ECG finding:

Re-elevation of primarily (in the resting ECG) depressed ST-segments (or T-waves) upon application of drugs (e.g. nitrates), cardiac stress tests (e.g. treadmill, stress echocardiography), revascularisation procedures (PCI, bypass graft) or spontaneously...

I failed to take notice that Anne was first with *reversal" in her* agree* with SJLD and he in his reply. Apologies for my hastiness... If points are given, I won´t deserve them.
Example sentence:

The *reversal of ST segment depression* or elevation after the administration of nitrates or after revascularization procedure is also highly suggestive that these symptom- less ST segment shifts were related to myocardial ischemia.

We present a case where spinal anesthesia was associated with *reversal of ST-segment depression* in a patient with coronary artery disease.
