stock assessments - yellowfin
There is no doubt that the vectors of natural mortality at age used in oceanX and ocean Y are still widely hypothetical : often obtained by a “crystal ball” or from a statistical best fit from an over parameterized statistical model. The increase of female natural mortality assumed in the ocean Y is possibly questionable, if compared to the results obtained in the Indian ocean. **Sexed recoveries** of adult yellowfin in the ocean X show a differential growth between males and females (a larger L infinity for males), thus explaining the differential sex ratio which has been observed worldwide for all yellowfin fisheries .

Global efforts to combat overfishing are starting to turn the tide to allow some fish stocks to recover, new analysis shows. Research from an international team of scientists shows that a handful of major fisheries across the world have managed to reduce the rate at which fish are exploited.
The experts say their study offers hope that overfishing can be brought under control, but they warn that fishermen in Ireland and the North Sea are still catching too many fish to allow stocks to recover. Some 63% of assessed fish stocks worldwide still require rebuilding, the scientists report.
"Across all regions we are still seeing a troubling trend of increasing stock collapse," said Dr Boris Worm, an ecologist at Dalhousie University in Canada. "But this paper shows that our oceans are not a lost cause. The encouraging result is that exploitation rate, the ultimate driver of depletion and collapse, is decreasing in half the 10 systems we examined. This means that management in those areas is setting the stage for ecological and economic recovery. It's only a start, but it gives me hope that we have the ability to bring overfishing under control."

l'identification du sexe à échantillonnage
I think it means that they are referring to fish which have been identified as male or female. They have recovered them (taken them out of the ocean) and identified their sex, and then recorded various data, so that the analysis can be disaggregated for males and females.
Having done this, they find that male and female fish grow at a different rate. I'm guessing that since nets are of a given size, smaller fish will slip out, explaining an abnormal sex differential. This second bit is more speculative though, since I don't know what the differential was that they found.
The guess on the main part of importance was supported by page 9 of http://www.iotc.org/files/proceedings/2010/wptt/IOTC-2010-WP... where shortly after mentioning "sexed recovery", they say that the sex of fish should be identified more often (presumably to improve the science that is being done), so I'm guessing that this is precisely what they are referring to.
So first, I render "sexed recovery" as "identification of sex upon sampling" then translate to French. I think the "à" might be better as something else ... never said I do polished documents in French :)
