Someone asked me what this translates as - I said I havent a clue! Does anyone have an idea how you would call this band in English?

"Truz" is the sound made by knocking. "Truz, truz" is the equivalent of "knock. knock". But the meaning of the expression is actually "neither this nor that"

You're right, but truz and muz are not real words - at least not known to me - and if there is such an expression, the equivalent in English would be the translation in brackets.

É uma expressão sinónima à que a Teresa referiu e explicou bem.
Além da explicação que deu, junto aqui mais uma que deve ser de interesse:
"Nem Chus nem Bus
A expressão já é encontrada nos mais antigos documentos da língua, assim como a sua variante nem chus nem mus, que tem maior semelhança fonética com a expressão sinônima não tugir nem mugir.
Além da rima, que caracteriza todas essas expressões, a forma sempre negativa formando dois blocos sônicos metricamente equivalentes fá-las muito semelhantes.
João Ribeiro afirma que buge, bus e mus e muge só podem ser derivadas de basium e bucca.
Como se usam separadamente os elementos chus e bus: "Não dizer chus" e "Não dizer (ou não fazer) bus", compreendo-se que o sentido de chus é o de mais no latim plus, palavra de que derivou. Não dizer chus é não dizer mais, ficar calado.
Bus, no dialeto cigano, é igual a mais. Em castelhano, entretanto, significa beijo."
