A newsletter on the recent launch (in France) of a new perfume refers to NPD as follows:
"x % de parts de marché Province à l'issue de la seconde semaine de résultats NPD soit un record jamais atteint dans les P&C jusque là"
I'm not at all familiar with this acronym, and having looked and looked I've come up with nothing relevant in French, and "New Production Development"in English, which I guess could make sense, but I'm not at all sure that it would be used in this way, i.e. "new production development figures" = figures for a newly developed product?? My research doesn't seem to be getting me anywhere, so I'm hoping someone else is familiar with it!

| I think this might well be it, Liz. I did see references to the NPD Group, but they all seemed to be connected to video games stuff, so I assumed they were a video games producer or some such thing...luckily you've got a much better research-head on! |
