French term

récupération sur le souscripteur

French to English Law/Patents Insurance
In an insurance contract, the article on premiums says:

Le souscripteur s'engage à payer à l'assureur les primes dont le montant est fixé aux Conditions Particulières, ainsi que les impôts et taxes dus sur les contrats d'assurance et dont la **récupération sur le souscripteur** n'est pas interdite.

Can somebody explain to me what this means?

Thanks

Hello,

Could it be that the insurer may goe ahead and pay these taxes that are the responsibility of the insured with the intent of passing it on to the insured later on? I could be wrong, but it's just a guess.

récuperation sur le souscripteur = getting the money back on the insured

I hope this helps.

French term (edited): récupération PAR le souscripteur

to cash in

Hi

I'm banking on (counting on) a typo and I have provided evidence why in a reference
But the sentence remains unclear
Based more on my knowledge than the sentence itself, I think they are talking about policies that can be cashed in but the policy holder would have to pay taxes on the part cashed in and hereby agrees to pay these taxes
Example sentence:

The policy holder agrees to pay all taxes and other monies due if he/she should cash in part or all of the policy
