English term

B.T.G.

English to Greek Other Military / Defense Acronym
Would anyone know what it stands for?
It appears in a marriage certificate under "Residence at the time of Marriage", along with RMP/S.I.B.
I know that the above stand for Royal Military Police/Special Investigation Branch but I could not find anything for the B.T.G. acronym that follows them.
Many thanks in advance.

That's OK Giorgo.
Thank you very much for your help and your time. I think I will leave it in English (maybe with a note). The client themselves said they didn't know what it stood for and I said I'd try but my own research didn't result in anything useful or suitable either.

Hello Pinelopi. I am afraid I couldn't get any info on this one, it seems to be very obscure. Are the RMP/S.I.B. entries beside the B.T.G. one? Is there any other place name or address mentioned? Were they married where the groom lived? Was the bride still stationed in the Middle East? I don't have high hopes for this one, unless you can talk to a historical expert or veteran soldier (if they client does not have any clues).

Yes, I saw that but apparently it refers to the US Army and my document is from Britain... Also I am not sure if the Brigade Tactical Group relates to the Special Investigation Branch.

Hi. Have you looked here? http://www.acronymfinder.com/BTG.html Could it be "Brigade Tactical Group"?
Pinelopi Ntokmetzioglou (asker) May 30, 2012:
No, this is under the "Residence at the time of Marriage" for the groom in the marriage certificate in question. So it might not be military... It could be an acronym for a place, county, borough etc. in which case I would not be able to know or decipher it as there is no other reference to any addresses in the document. But I thought I'd ask just in case it is military...

Is this about the same person as in the Junior Commander / Staff Captain question, Pinelopi?
