German term

Plusdiskrepanz

German to English Medical Medical (general) Prenatal
Zeitgerechte Entwicklung bei moderater, symmetrischer plusdiskrepanz, St. n. IUI, derzeit sonoanatomisch kenie wesentlichen.....

This from a prenatal medical report. I understand that "plusdiskrepanz" means that the fetus is larger than normal for the time of pregnancy. However I am unable to find a term for this in English.
Change log

Sep 28, 2012 15:13: Cilian O'Tuama changed "Level" from "Non-PRO" to "PRO"

Votes to reclassify question as PRO/non-PRO:

PRO (3): Coqueiro, Colin Rowe, Cilian O'Tuama

When entering new questions, KudoZ askers are given an opportunity* to classify the difficulty of their questions as 'easy' or 'pro'. If you feel a question marked 'easy' should actually be marked 'pro', and if you have earned more than 20 KudoZ points, you can click the "Vote PRO" button to recommend that change.

How to tell the difference between "easy" and "pro" questions:

An easy question is one that any bilingual person would be able to answer correctly. (Or in the case of monolingual questions, an easy question is one that any native speaker of the language would be able to answer correctly.)

A pro question is anything else... in other words, any question that requires knowledge or skills that are specialized (even slightly).

Another way to think of the difficulty levels is this: an easy question is one that deals with everyday conversation. A pro question is anything else.

When deciding between easy and pro, err on the side of pro. Most questions will be pro.

* Note: non-member askers are not given the option of entering 'pro' questions; the only way for their questions to be classified as 'pro' is for a ProZ.com member or members to re-classify it.

large for dates

What does it mean if I'm "measuring large for dates"?
Measuring large for dates means your fundal height is more than 2 centimeters larger than expected for your stage of pregnancy, based on your due date.

macrosomia

The average newborn weighs about 3.4kg (7lb 8oz). Babies weighing more than 4.5kg (9lb 15oz) at birth are considered much larger than average, or macrosomic.

In 2009, around 1.7 per cent of all babies in England and Wales were macrosomic.

big baby syndrome/large for gestational age

Macrosomia is a situation in which a fetus is strangely large, otherwise known as Big Baby Syndrome and/or Large for Gestational Age (LGA). They are born at the weight of at least 8 pounds, 13 ounces or more. The standard birth weight for a baby is about 7 pounds. Most babies with macrosomia are born full-term, but some instances may be born in pre-term.

Large for gestational age (LGA) means that a fetus or infant is larger or more developed than normal for the baby's gestational age.
http://www.nlm.nih.gov/medlineplus/ency/article/002248.htm

Large for gestational age (LGA) is a term used to describe babies who are born weighing more than the usual amount for the number of weeks of pregnancy. LGA babies have birthweights greater than the 90th percentile for their gestational age, meaning that they weigh more than 90 percent of all babies of the same gestational age.

Oversize

disagree Cetacea : This is a medical question. Human beings aren't "oversize".

neutral uyuni : I doubt that this is the operative term here... And again: Could you do us the favour and provide quotable sources when answering questions with an undertone of impeccability?

Makrosomie -> macrosomia -> big baby syndrome
