Spanish term

General Borgoño cuadra 8 s/n (altura cuadra 45 Av.)

Spanish to English Marketing Tourism & Travel
Hi.

It is a Peruvian address, but I'm not sure how to phrase either "altura" or "cuadra 45". Would it be block 45, 45th block etc.

Many thanks in advance for you help!

Cheers,

Robbie

Explanation In a hurry so I can't give you an elegant translation, but I can certainly try to explain!

Block 8 on a street called General Borgoño (although it might be an avenue!), with no specific number assigned to it (s/n= sin número). To help you find this, they give you the additional info that this is where it crosses with 45th Ave.

cuadra es Block/ altura quiere decir que está "paralela" a..... o sea la cuadra 8 es paralela a la cuadra 45

General Borgoño Street, block 8 without a number (parallel to Av. Arequipa, block 45)

I live in Lima and know exactly where it is. I would add the word "Arequipa" as it is parallel to Av. Arequipa.

General Borgoño block 8 w/o no. (by 45th Ave. block)

But addresses are not normally translated.
Note from asker:
I have pointed out to the client that normally you don't translate them, but he's insisted on it!
Peer comment(s):

agree AllegroTrans : yes, but I see no point in translating (unless someone is intent on upsetting the postman)

Gracias, Allegro. I agree, but what the client wants, the client gets. He should be warned that the translation is for his own consumption only, and to use the original for the postman.
