According to Wikipedia:
Civil partnership is similar to mariage between same sex couples.
Domestic partnership is a couplehood between people who ar neither maried nor civil partners (i.e. just living together). It is a British term based on a British act.
In my opinion these are very specific legal terms and cannot be translated as yadu'a batzibur. They need to be explained via a footnote or somesuch.

As I said, there are no direct Hebrew translations so my recommendation is to translate literally as something like "ben zug ezrachi" and shutaf chayim" AND to ecplain the source in a footnote.
More elegant yet less accurate: be brith zugiut and yadu'a betzibur.

civil partner refers to same-sex partne, not domestic partner, which has been an accepted legal term for a long time. Sorry. |
