A refinement on the system is to correct for temperature. By placing a temperature sensitive aperture in the line to the Pitot chamber the amount of Pitot pressure can be altered. This is called >True Airspeed< (TAS). In the types of instruments described here it would be done by way of a bimetallic strip that constricts the flow to the capsule. More modern systems tend to do the same job electronically.
