English term

overburden heap

English to Serbian Tech/Engineering Mining & Minerals / Gems
The situation at the site was largely influenced by landslide in 2010, which affected the eastern part of the plateau. It happened during the spring flood. Near the slide surface there is an overburden heap that was disposed here at the time of TMI recultivation (see fig. 2-1). The area of the overburden heap shows signs of potential incipient landslide. The left bank of the Rudnica river forms a steep slope. This is another area of potential landslides.

The overburden/waste rocks from OPM was poured over the northern edge of the road to the original surface. Thus „older“ heap of BP3 was covered over by “younger“ material of the waste heap from OPM.

gomile s otkopa površinskog sloja

overburden = sloj koji se nalazio iznad korisnog sloja rude, koji je morao da bude prvo ukljonjen, jednostavno preneti materijal, ne jalovina koja ostaje nakon izdvajanja rude.

"Overburden

Overburden in a coal mining site.

In mining and in archaeology, overburden (also called waste or spoil) is the material that lies above an area of economic or scientific interest. In mining, it is most commonly the rock, soil, and ecosystem that lies above a coal seam or ore body. Overburden is distinct from tailings, the material that remains after economically valuable components have been extracted from the generally finely milled ore. Overburden is removed during surface mining, but is typically not contaminated with toxic components and may be used to restore an exhausted mining site to a semblance of its appearance before mining began. Overburden may also be used as a term to describe all soil and ancillary material above the bedrock horizon in a given area.

A related term is interburden, meaning material that lies between two areas of economic interest, such as the material separating coal seams within strata.[2][3]

By analogy, overburden is also used to describe the soil and other material that lies above a specific geologic feature, such as a buried astrobleme.

preopterećena gomila

Mislim, da se radi o preopterećenoj gomili tj. hrpi, jer se u kontekstu spominje i potencijalni odron.
