Bingo! Yes, it's on p.10 of the catalogue. This one does indeed seem to be box-jointed. Farnell (http://uk.farnell.com/adjustable-grip-pliers) refer to these simply as "adjustable grip". Another example of where FR is much more descriptive than EN// I should have added that the picture to the left is of pliers with "branches superposées" which is the more usual (and cheaper) arrangement, though not as strong.

Decent pliers and cutters are usually "box-jointed", which I take to be the "branches entrepassées". These particular ones (any chance of a picture?) seem to be "geared", ie they have a double rack & pinion mechanism. Of course, a "pince" can also be a clamp, so it would be useful to know what the function of this tool is; otherwise it's just guesswork.

"branches entrepassées" (slip-joint) is opposed to "branches superposées" (stacked) of standard tongue and groove from the most famous manufacturer in the US, that gave the name, often called a channellock plier:

slip-joint pliers with rack-type handles

pince à branches entrepassées, these are indeed slip-joint pliers - impossible to find slip-joiint handles used as such
