ordinary sounds better than gray or whatever Ordinary people or things are normal and not special or different in any way.
Stand out from the ordinary crowd is enough to deliver the message, I think.

In English, I think "masses" is not a good choice because it's so overused in leftist political writing, while "gray mass" sounds like some blob in a sci-fi movie or else a description of the brain. So I would ditch the color.

Yes, you can say that in English. Grey for BE, gray for AmE.

On second thought, I'd use the singular here: mass, not masses. Crowd works too, but I like the visual this evokes.

Наверное, смысл сильно не исказиться, если добавить market players.
... shine among the ordinary multitude of market players and be able to compete with other businesses/companies etc.
Более идиоматичным для презентации и вполне достаточной для передачи смысла представляется фраза, о которой было уже упомянуто и которая мне тоже нравится, - stand out from the crowd. В одной статьей встречается также shine among your dull competitors, но такая формулировка мне кажется эмоционально-оценочной.

OK, looks like Misha isn't going to post this, so I will. It's the most natural way to make the point in English, and this is advertising copy, where natural is often the way to go, since the advertiser wants to be understood without a lot of head-scratching on the part of the reader.
