battery of hot water panels.
Battery = any group or series of similar things, esp. used for a common purpose: a battery of aptitude tests.

: radiant heat panels have serpentine coils sandwiched in them. they are mostly used in expensive homes.

set of hot-water panels
'batería' in exactly the same sense as you'd buy a 'batería de caserolas' for the kitchen. It simply means there's more than one of these panels in the 'frigorífero'.

: I mention this possibility in my answer under the term "array" but I don't think so, see the links for pics of what these coils look like in the last note under my answer

'array' has more-specific geometric connotations than 'batería', and unless I'd seen a drawing showing how the panels are arranged geometrically, and interconnected, I wouldn't extrapolate from the general to the specific.

: Set or battery work, with battery implying they are linked in series (progressively heating the water).

Or, indeed, linked in parallel to achieve greater throughput. But we're speculating here...

coil for hot water panels
Believe the Batería is being used in the sense of a coil and not a battery for power and
A "Batería de frío" is a cooling coil (see reference link, pg. 2, directly under the graphic)
A "Batería de calor" is a heating coil (same reference)
"paneles de agua caliente" are hot water panels, usually used in solar heating
so put it all together and it would be 'hot water panel coil',

this posted before I was done, was going to add there is a change that it could mean a hot water panel array as "Batería" can mean array as well, but seeing that " Batería de frío" is right above it I'm thinking along lines of consistency with the term coil

ammend change from "there is a change that" to chance

also why doesn't ProZ enable direct editing of the explanation? it's annoying not to be able to correct typos after posting

: There's nothing in the ST to suggest these panels might have the geometry of a 'coil'.//Neutral --> Disagree, because 'batería' clearly refers to the panels, not to their internal construction (which, in any case, may not be coiled in Asker's case).

how on earth did you arrive at the conclusion that I mean the panels themselves were shaped like coils? They are coils of copper tubing that go inside the panels which provide the heating, see the links in the latest note to see what they look like

: No editing so that ppl can't change their answers/explanation (i.e., cheat).//Got bored with pictures of coils, didn't see there was actually info. there - it's hardly an industry paper, it's TRANSLATED promotional material.

if you looked at the Reference link I provide the TECHNICAL SPECIFICATIONS OF AN INDUSRY PAPER ON EXACTLY THIS TOPIC list bateria de frio and de calor as heating and cooling coils, I suggest being able to read/research be a prerequisite for translation

seguridad - page 3 - http://www.salvadorescoda.com/tarifas/Climatizacion_Agua_Tar...
this is exactly what it is, bateria has a technical meaning of coil, in each of the above cases it is as coil:
hot water coil
refrigeration coil
electric coil
steam coil
it is the FRIGORÍFERO which is made entirely of stainless steel
trying to say that the fact that I've found examples of exactly what this is and documented it in technical text after technical text doesn't show relevance to the askers question is laughably illogical
The fact that you've found an example where the 'batería' is coiled, and made of copper, in no way implies that those are features of the system described in Asker's ST.
However if you looked at the FACT that "Batería de frío" is a cooling coil and "Batería de calor" is a heating coil, and if you are aware of the composition of heating panels as having copper coils inside them to transfer heat, it becomes clear that this is a use regarding the coils for heating the hot water panels in conjunction with the cooling cool directly above.
It is not probable that inconsistent meanings of terminology are used right next to each other in a technical description where the meaning of "bateria" is going to be used in one completely irrelevant sense after being used in a specific sense directly above, especially when there is a specific complementary meaning to go along with the technical use of terminology.
Neil and Robin are making the mistake of thinking a dictionary definition can be substituted for the actual case specific meaning.
