se trata de un refran castellano, el hecho es que tengo una larguisima lista de refranes para un trabajo, y tampoco quiero preguntarlos todos, si alguien conoce una buena web de refranes bilingue, o bien una de refranes español y otra en ingles para compararlos, lo agradecería mcuhisimo. es muy urgente. mil gracias

"Praise the Lord and pass the ammunition."

I have seen this translation in several collections of Spanish proverbs and sayings. One, I am almost certain, is NTC's "Guide to Spanish Idioms".

Think about it logically: literally, the words mean: praising God while wielding the club". With beligerance is part of the idea here, a translation of "God helps those who help themselves" is very tame indeed and misses an essential element.
