German term

Besatz

German to English Tech/Engineering Mechanics / Mech Engineering Roller brush for a scale extraction and separation system for a plate edge milling machine

The best thing I can can come up with is that Besatz in this case = a group or pattern of tufts of bristles. The brush body has a covering of consisting mulitple interchangeble packages of these.

bristle

It is to be noted that the rotary brush is composed of a series of segments which are substantially key-stone-shaped in cross-section so that should the wire bristles 32 of one segment become damaged, this segment may be replaced by merely removing the anchoring rod 33 and substituting a new bristle section therefor.

a rotary wire brush cylindrical in end elevation and having closely associated radial flexible bristles forming a bristle mass uninterrupted over the entire peripheral surface thereof

stranded wire

The individual strands are like the individual bristles of animal hair, but once they have been intertwined or stranded they form 'groups of bristle-like strands,' which are heat sealed together (verschweisst) into stranded wire.
