staff support

International Org/Dev/Coop
Hi everyone
Context : I have to translate (from English to French) the annual report of a Task Team in an international organization, for their General Assembly. In the members list , I have a chair, 5 members and 2 "staff support".
I found this :
Providing staff support is a key part of the role that Staffing Sub-groups should play. It provides a formal regular structured opportunity for staff to discuss their work, be accountable, review their progress and identify difficulties. It also provides the Staffing Sub-group with an opportunity to discuss issues of concern and gain a better understanding of the day to day issues arising within the Project.
It is usually undertaken by a more experienced member of the Management Committee. However, where voluntary members of management are new to this process it is possible to learn the skills through support / training from the Regional Support Agency. It is also usually better for Staffing Sub-groups to work in pairs when providing support and supervision to a Co-ordinator as this creates a safer environment.
But nothing in French... Any thoughts ?

Usually, you would use "support staff" rather than staff support. But the mistake is sometimes made (see ref. 1). There is some logic to it, as these activities provide support to the staff in the team. Besides, in an international organisation, the source text may have been written by somebody for whom English is not a native language.

Discussion
I have no other occurrence of "staff support" to help me determine what they mean by it, but I know that both "staff support" members are employees, and not elected members, of the organisation (one is Associate Director, the other is Executive Director). So, though "soutien administratif" or "soutien de projet" are both good in other contexts, I don't think they quite fit here - I had thought of something like "direction exécutive", what do you reckon ?
