Spanish term

con troquel anulado

Spanish to English Bus/Financial Medical: Pharmaceuticals
The term is from an Argentinian pharmaceutical purchase order:

@Taña It's a very useful and relevant reference, which you were quite right to post. And after all the contributor is from Argentina, and maybe be was right about the terminology as used in 2009; I don't know about that.
Taña Dalglish Jun 26, 2016:
@ Charles I understand and agree with you! I too looked at this question from last night, and it was precisely why I did not post anything then, as I did not trust the info. I only posted this morning merely as a reference, accurate or not! When I said "pretty much confirms what you said", I should perhaps have said "confirms the part about the bar code...., but the rest of the info is not completely accurate". I hope you understand what I am attempting to say! I did not know the correct terminology! Thank you though for clarifying.
Charles Davis Jun 26, 2016:
Hi Taña I think the contributor to that thread has got it confused. From the reference I've posted and others I've seen, the "troquel" is not a piece of the packaging; it's a self-adhesive sticker formerly attached to the packaging. The bar code and other details used to be printed on a sticker called a troquel which was stuck on. This is no longer valid, and these self-adhesive troqueles have to be "anulados". Pharmacists now have to use the bar code printed on the packaging itself, cutting it out with a cutter (as I've said, this is exactly what they do in Spain too). This "stub" isn't a troquel; it can't be, or the new regulations don't make sense. If the "troquel" is the part of the packaging that has the bar code printed on it, and this has to be "anulado", what is the pharmacist now supposed to attach to the prescription?
Taña Dalglish Jun 26, 2016:
@ Charles I looked at this too and came across this thread in the Argentine context which pretty much confirms what you have said (but I didn't know the correct term):
http://forum.wordreference.com/threads/troquel-drug-package.... The "troquel" is a square piece of a drug cardboard package containing a bar code or a number code that the pharmacist cut out with a cutter when he sells the product and attach it to the prescription in order to get reimbursment later. I've seen in the forum "perforated tear-off stub" as a why of paraphrasing but I hope there is a more specific term for this. Other suggestion: (tear off) coupon. Regards.
Charles Davis Jun 26, 2016:
Troquel This is a self-adhesive sticker with the bar code that used to be attached to the side of the secondary packaging. The bar code now has to be printed on the packaging, and the sticker used on existing stocks has to be cancelled or crossed out with indelible ink. Pharmacists in Argentina may no longer attach the sticker to the prescription; they must cut out the printed bar code and attach it to the prescription (which is what they do in Spain, by the way). The following document makes it clear:
https://www.farmalink.com.ar/pls/portal/docs/PAGE/FARMALINK_...

I think I would put "with the sticker crossed out" or "with the sticker cancelled", but it's very close to Phil's suggestion.

with the label hidden/overprinted

Or concealed, or something along those lines.

Here's another example:

La compra del Ministerio conlleva varios requisitos. Entre ellos que los envases presenten el troquel anulado.

Los envases primarios y secundarios deberán llevar impresa la leyenda en lugar visible y con caracteres destacados: “MINISTERIO DE SALUD DE LA NACION – Dirección Nacional de Maternidad e Infancia – Distribución gratuita – PROHIBIDA SU VENTA”.
Peer comment(s):

agree Charles Davis : Anular seems to mean "cross out": "Troquel: deberá ser anulado con tinta indeleble" http://www.hospitalelcruce.org/pdf/cd27.pdf . Not just "label", which should be reserved for "etiqueta" (a different thing); this is a self-adhesive sticker (see disc.)

with the die annulled/cancelled/eliminated

Well, from the general findings Argentina seems to have replaced dies with stamps, to increase safety measures.

So, I am suggesting "dies" here.

Hi

I think "troquel" is a barcode:

so, the bar code has to be cancelled/eliminated
