I'm having trouble finding what skuffer is supposed to mean in this case. I don't think it's anything to do with drawers (as in furniture!).

Thank you so much Andres. Now that I've taken a break and looked at this again, they are actually referring to the patient's care during the surgery, not after.
So yes I'm pretty sure they mean armboards as you call them. I call them armrests. Please enter your suggestion and I'll award points.
