Italian term

registrazione del tampone

Italian to English Science Biology (-tech,-chem,micro-) Clinical Trial
This is from a Clinical Trial application for a vaccine. It is listed as one of the functions of an technical support laboratory.

I think (but there is nothng in the text to confirm this) this is to do with the blood/serums samples sent for analysis back to the company. So the buffer needs to be checked/titrated/standardized?
I'm sorry, I know this isn't much to go on, but I'm hoping there is someone with a knowledge of immunological laboratory science here. Thanks

My guess is that being a clinical trial, everything (including all materials used) have to be recorded in the trial documentation, something a laboratory is responsible for, at least in part.

To start registering the samples a proper sample register must be made. This register must record all the relevant patient information and results
Note from asker:
Thanks! This regards the registration of samples, though. For samples it makes perfect sense. But for the buffer? not so sure.
