Czech term

Krivsky / Krivski

Czech Other Genealogy
Does anyone have an idea about the origin and possible meaning of the family name 'Krivsky' or 'Krivski'? I have noticed it is/was spread out in Galicia (now Western Ukraine) and other parts of the former Austria-Hungarian Empire (now Czech Republic), and also in Russia's Kostroma region, around Galich and Soligalich towns. Is it just a mere coincidence or the name 'Krivsky' is closely related to Galicia/Galich/Soligalich toponyms?

P.S. Sorry for posting this question here and not in a historical or genealogical forum, but maybe someone could offer a linguistic explanation of this phenomenon.
