Latin term

collati seti baptizmi

Latin to English Other Social Science, Sociology, Ethics, etc. appears as the heading in a field on a baptismal certificate from Hungary
followed by the date of baptism. No further context sadly.

Discussion

Ellen Kraus May 29, 2017:
esti collatus has been administered (in German ist erteilt/ gespendet worden worden, wurde gespendet) O vos omnes, qui in Christo baptizati estis; in my understanding the Deviation is due to the difference between clerical Latin and classical Latin.
Veronika McLaren May 29, 2017:
Not that it really matters ...but looking at verb forms of esse on www.frag-Caesar.de/lateinwoerterbuch/esse, I found no results (essetis/setis?); however, there are numerous entries on www.genealogy.ro/dictionary/lat_eng_c.htm Latine - English dictionary and on SlovakiaGenealogy Research Strategies www.iabsi.com/gen/public/church_record_headers.htm regarding collatus S.

Sakrament der Taufe gespendet am :

müsste es eigentlich heißen

es könnte natürlich auch heißen "das Sakrament der Taufe wurde
empfangen" aber collatus is eher "was transferred to"

sorry it should have been in English: the sacrament of baptism was administered or donated (or received)

Thank you, Joseph !
agree Veronika McLaren : the "seti" standing for "sancti"?

Thank you, Veronika; I was tempted too, to interpret it as sanctus, but then recalled the forms of esse.
Something went wrong...
