(Apologies, there is no category for 'plumbing'...) This is an insurance assessor's report on a leaking fire-sprinkler system. The leaks were repaired by Contractor 1, but failed within weeks. The leaks were then properly repaired by Contractor 2, and the building's insurer is now suing Contractor 1.
The problematic sentence is "Les réparations ont été effectuées **en technique fonte**". This seems to refer to the second (successful) round of repairs.
I thought it might to refer to a "melting" technique (American Welding Association generic term for welding/brazing/soldering) but then thought it might refer to cast iron fittings...
In the end, I've gone totally blank with this one, so any help would be greatly appreciated, as always :-)
And before you ask, no, there is no supporting / explanatory context :-)

I bet there is more context — if only you can spot it ;-)
Certainly, it is not unusual for sprinkler systems to be run in iron piping with cast-iron fittings; and for all I know, it is possible they might be run using actual cast-iron pipes; but I suspect it is just the fittings they are talking about.
