French term

non collecté

French to English Medical Medical (general)
This is referring to an image from an MRI scan

does it just mean diffuse?

no collections of pus

I have come across 'une collection' as referring to a collection of pus, or abscess. This would fit the context of an absence of suppuration.

by inference non collecté refers to a region next to an abscess which is inflamed but does not contain pus
Note from asker:
Yes that makes sense in context as the text goes on to talk about abscesses etc. - thanks

agree liz askew : I would leave out "pus".

Thank you!
disagree Drmanu49 : where does "pus" come in?

did you look at my references??!! obviously not. collection is not enough on its own, it refers to abnormal collection of material, the nature of which must be defined. In context, pus makes sense. Abscess would also be permissible.

disagree Sue Davis : Your references refer not to diffuse, but diffusion - Diffusion-weighted magnetic resonance imaging (DWI or DW-MRI) is an imaging method that uses the diffusion of water molecules to generate contrast in MR images.
