Plus je la lis, plus je compare, et plus j'ai l'impression qu'il vous manque un ou deux bouts de phrase : ...scope of cover stipulated for the period of insurance is valid [for ????] in which the first loss from the series [???].
Si la ponctuation était différente, on pourrait prendre "however" dans le sens de "peu importe que/quelle que soit" (plutôt que "cependant"), mais la phrase serait quand même bancale.
