Russian term

квартира под отделку

Russian to English Bus/Financial Real Estate
хочется передать тот смысл, что квартира "без ремонта" - голые стены, и не очень описательно
т.е. новая квартира, отделку в которой делает собственник самостоятельно, не застройщик

Gentlemen, thanks for the pleasure of witnessing this exchange)
The Misha Apr 4, 2018:
Cheers to you too You know I am pulling your leg, right? And for the record, although I am indeed a bit on the heavy side these days (I mean, literally:))), by all means challenge me all you want. Otherwise, where is the fun in all that?

This reminded me of that old Zhvanetsky piece performed by Kartsev and Ilchenko: A vy argumentiruyte:)
El oso Apr 4, 2018:
Oh, come on, Misha! :) The clarification is totally redundant, as I didn't mean to challenge you (heavyweight that you are) in any way, shape or form :) I just thought the Uzun-Kulak comparison kinda fit the occasion :) Cheers, man )
The Misha Apr 4, 2018:
Uzun-Kulak lives indeed! El Oso, so that we are clear, I do not for a moment dispute the existence of that curious phenomenon. The only thing I am saying is that where the pastures are allegedly greener:))) this Uzun-Kulak would by definition constitute a total Barak-Kirdyk (and no, I do not mean that Nobel-winning Barak or ours) and quite possibly, even a complete and irreversible Saray-Kayuk.

Please take my comment for what it is, a stray observation by a zazhravshiysya pindos who is well out of touch with reality outside his reservation:)))

@El oso ! ;)

@The Misha Thanks for this intelligence from beyond the whatever curtain there is now) I figured that much, but a faint hope lingered. https://nsochi.s3.amazonaws.com/uploads/photo/image/realty/1...
El oso Apr 4, 2018:
Узун-Кулак (i.e. квартира без ремонта) существует и с этим приходится считаться :)
The Misha Apr 4, 2018:
This would definitely be a hard one to explain to most in a Western nation. Unfurnished? Sure. Totally unequipped - such as with no range/dishwasher/fridge in the kitchen? Er, OK, I can see that although that would be fairly uncommon. But bare, unplastered walls? No functioning plumbing installed? No electric outlets? I don't think so. In fact, my guess is that in most US jurisdictions this would be considered a safety violation and thus outright illegal. So take your pick: unfinished/undecorated/barebones/unequipped. Whatever you choose, you will still need to explain why anyone in their right mind would want to even consider such an option, and, more importantly, if this is in a multi-unit setting, why the neighbors would want to put up with your private construction efforts and why the government regulator in charge would allow something like this.

I guess it's just another case of zhivotnyi raznoi porody:)

without finishing

When choosing a new home, it is necessary to evaluate a number of issues. One of them - whether you will have time and desire to equip the new apartment by yourself, or maybe you would like to settle down in a fully furnished home? Thus, before choosing a home, consider the finishing options. According to the level of finishing, the apartments for sale may be divided into three main groups:
New apartments without finishing: apartments can be without any finishing, with visible open structures, with unplastered walls, unequipped Unfinished space provides more room for imagination and creativity (maybe you will come up with an idea to leave an open structure in the general modern design). Thus, larger investments of time also give more choices...
