Calcul en fissuration peu préjudiciable

but am still puzzled. Does "peu préjudiciable" refer to "Calcul en fissuration", i.e. to the "calcul", or to "fissuration"?

Can any engineers out there shed some light on this?

Answer found elsewhere Translated as "cracking that is not very detrimental". Thanks for very useful help received from a former major contributor to KudoZ, who was sadly banned. I also found myself referring to three or four of his old KudoZ answers this week.

This seems to be a standard calculation ... ... done in advance of construction, so that the concrete and rebar design meets a standard adapted to the particular environment and use it's meant for. It seems to come under the French BAEL (Béton Armé aux Etats Limites) Code. This is a particular French calculation that predates the Eurocodes.

"Contrainte de traction des armatures liée au « niveau » de fissuration
retenue :
- Peu préjudiciable
- Préjudiciable
- Très préjudiciable
Exemple : en très préjudiciable, ss < 250 MPa à l’ELS rare"

So, there probably is a standard way this would be expressed by an English engineer.

agree it's the cracks that can be more or less of a pain in the neck / a danger.
Calculations also, but I would expect that buildings crumbling and falling down are a more pressing concern than a calculation that takes a bit more time.

@B D Not an engineer, but I am pretty sure "prejudiciable" refers to "fissuration". "Fissuration préjudiciable" (or "peu/très préjudiciable") seems to be a thing.
