English term

flat spring rest

English to French Tech/Engineering Electronics / Elect Eng Cores
Bonjour,

Savez-vous à quoi cela correspond ? Ce terme apparaît dans un document relatif aux noyaux ferrites. Je n'ai pas beaucoup d'occurence. Voici la phrase dans laquelle il apparaît :

RM-cores usually have recesses. The recesses consist of a flat spring rest and a locking ridge.

=> les noyaux RM disposent de niches. Ces niches consistent en un flat spring rest et une nervure de verrouillage.

Merci par avance pour votre aide !

@all Hello
After seeing Tony's suggestion, I ask myself if we have
1. a place for a flat spring (my first impression)
2. a flat place for a spring
3. Both by sheer luck

zone d'appui plate pour le ressort

This is the flat area (= 'zone') on which the spring rests (= presses) — I don't believe it means "a rest for a flat spring", not least, because this spring slip is far from being entirely flat! The point is that the flat area leaves a certain margin of error for the positioning of the spring (e.g. it doesn't need to fit exactly into a tiny notch), while the locking ridge means the pring cant just slip out again; a similar effect might have been achieved by e.g. having a half-round groove for the spring to engage in, but in this case, the designer clearly decided this was the best option; probably somewhat relaxes manufacturing tolerances on both the (moulded) ferrite core and also the (formed) spring.

support pour ressort plat avec arête de blocage

Hello

The reference doc has a good picture of this but I'm pushed to say what it is in French

Flat spring = ressort plat
rest = the special location where each end of the spring should rest ( clip onto/fit into) = support, base, repose ressort?
locking ridge = arête de blocage

Hopefully, this might be enough for someone to improve on my attempt
