IT PUTS THE DASH IN DASHBOARD

English to French Other IT (Information Technology) Business Intelligence and Analytics Platform

I suspect it is this other sense of dash I.e. More the idea of 'panache' or 'flair'

mass noun Impetuous or flamboyant vigour and confidence; panache.
‘he has youthful energy, dash, and charisma’

Synonyms
verve, style, stylishness, flamboyance, gusto, zest, confidence, self-assurance, elan, flair, flourish, vigour, vivacity, vivaciousness, sparkle, brio, panache, éclat, exuberance, ebullience, enthusiasm, eagerness, vitality, dynamism, animation, liveliness, spirit, energy

@ Asker Obviously that wouldn't work directly — but 'vitesse' doesn't seem to me to relate easily with either 'tableau' or "bord'!
Perhaps you can use th' bord' aspect in a different way — soemthing like 'tableau de bord à vitesse de croisière'
The trouble is, you haven't give us any idea at all what it relates to, not the image they are trying to convey.
Maybe try and think what the message if they want to get acorss in plain EN, forgeting the pun, and then try and write something clever in FR to convey a similar message.

what about... Intègre la vitesse à votre tableau de bord ?
Met la vitesse à bord de votre tableau?

Hi Tony, Thank you for your input, I totally agree with you. I was thinking also I could just translate without using a pun, maybe with something along the lines of "vitesse du tableau de bord", to keep the full original sense. I like "bienvenue à bord", but the sense of "dash" is then lost...
Tony M Nov 4, 2018:
@ Asker You clearly won't be able to reproduce the pun in FR, which is a pity, as the imagery of dash = hâte = rapidité is strong.
You're I'm afarid going to have to do a copywriting job and come up with something equally pithy but using different imagery.

I was thinking perhaps of something along the lines of 'bienvenue à bord' , playing along the 2 senses of 'bord' here?
