of course - depending on what is expected from these tapes - the author might refer to kinetic tapes as well (if the tapes are to improve movability), yet functional tapes would do in the present case, being a more general term, though on the other hand, Tesa tapes are also called functional tapes (they have nothing to do with physiology though).

kinesiology tape

Kinesiology tape is the technical term. Also referred to, more generally, as therapeutic tape. The use of such tape is referred to as "kinesiology taping" or just "taping"
