French term

Enlèvements directs (D24)

French to English Tech/Engineering Mining & Minerals / Gems
afin de constater la régularité des enlèvements directs (D24) destinés à [nom de la societe]

Part of a report into fuel depot transactions at a mine. There are significant differences between the amount t of oil deposited in favour of the company and what is supposed to be deposited.

Discussion

Richard Vranch (asker) Jan 4, 2019:
@BD Finch Sorry, yes it is a little strange. The idea is the company didn’t declare the entire amount of oil (merchandise) they had transported under the expedited D24 procedure.
B D Finch Jan 4, 2019:
@Asker It is far more useful to provide the sentence and, possibly, some surrounding text in the source language. Your English version of the context "the amount t [sic] of oil deposited in favour of the company" seems rather odd.

Note from asker:
Thanks for the he reference, the document is very helpful. From that and the general context, I think the idea is clearing the merchandise subject to the D24 protocol, as opposed i the actual taxation thereof. I really appreciate your help!
Peer comment(s):

agree Nicole Acher : Since your attachment shows that D24 relates to taxes, your choice of "direct taxation" seems appropriate.

direct removals (D24)

I have no idea what this means, but it will presumably make sense to the customer and in the wider context. I don't think its exact meaning is your problem.

Note from asker:
I think it is removal in the sense of clearing (for customs purposes) subject to D24 guidelines...

agree writeaway : unless it's specific mining terminology, this is the clearly obvious translation
