Does the phrase as used here mean "en el dia de la fecha" (meaning today), or does it have another meaning, since the words "de la fecha" are omitted?

I understand this to be a request to send the copy "today".

Putting on my (well-worn) Andean earflap hat (Chullo vs. chulo - see the other recent ESP/ENG menino del padre question), I surmise on immediate impact that this is a Peruvian variation on 'en su día'.
