English term or phrase: quarter line
The aggreagation of waterlines, buttocklines, sections and diagonals indicative of a ship's form, drawn on a scale of 0.25" = 1ft
My understanding is that "quarter" is for the specific scale used (one quarter inch for one foot), but I have no idea of the possible French equivalent

Explanation:
I don't see where you get "quarter line" from, waterlines are the horizontal lines in a ship's drawing (lignes d'eau), however a 1/4" to 1' must be 1/48th scale because there are 48 1/4" in 1'(unless my maths are completely wrong, which is possible)

OK, I assume that there is no specific term, I was wondering if there could exist something like HO = 1/87 or I = 1/32 for railroad models. Thanks
