The fitting has a gripper element that comprises an elastic lock ring for locking the pipe 2, resting on the seal element. This elastic ring has at least a pointed inner portion suitable for interacting with the outer surface of the pipe, a conical inner surface diverging towards the opening of the fitting with respect to said outer surface of the pipe, and a conical outer surface opposite the conical inner surface. In other words, the elastic lock ring has a substantially triangular section. In agreement with one embodiment, the lock ring is made of metal material and its elasticity is given by an interruption of its circumference.
