dévaliser des clochards

Robert Collings Roll = North Am slang dévaliser

Well I suggest that the main things are some warm clothing, and some
water. It is very important not to take any money, at least that is
the way that I learned it.

If the local town folk in the towns that you are passing through
think you have some money they will do what is called
"rolling bums" which means beat them up and steal their money
and you can't complain to the cops because they will arrest
you for being a tramp.

>> 8) Did you hop on right when the train started moving, or before it
began to move?? At night, or during the day?
9) What unexpected problems did you encounter?<<

It is always better from a safety stand point to get on and off the
train when it is stoped.
